The Winston County Supervisors approved a motion to establish a local Council on Aging in their Tuesday morning board meeting (September 3). EMA Director Buddy King presented a preliminary list of volunteers to form the local council. State Representatives and a representative from Golden Triangle Planning and Development join local citizens and members of the Red Hills Seniors Organization.
King explained that the Council was necessary to begin work toward establishing services and possibly a senior center facility in the future. King indicated that the community's aging population could definitely benefit from more organized services.
